Meet the Jewel: Trisha

Name: Trisha Gustafson

Specialty: Custom Design. I love to help people remake a family piece into something that they can wear everyday.

How many years have you worked at Croghan’s? Over 50 years…I was Rhett’s first babysitter when I was 12 and then Mrs. Ramsay started asking me to come to the store to help on Saturdays…I have been here in some capacity ever since. Even when I was a teacher I worked summers and Saturdays!

White Gold or Yellow Gold? Yellow

What is your favorite jewelry brand? Temple St. Clair

What is your favorite gemstone? Emerald

What is your favorite piece of jewelry you own and why? My engagement ring. Gus went to see Mrs. Ramsay and she knew that I loved emeralds. Gus told her how much he had to spend and she said, “That is amazing, that is how much every single one of these rings costs exactly!” Needless to say that was not the truth, but she wanted me to have a wonderful ring!

Favorite piece of jewelry you have sold and why? I was a French teacher at Bishop England High School for many years and I love it when I get to sell engagement rings to my former students!

What is the best thing about working on Wonderful King Street? The camaraderie of the jewels! It is just so unique.

Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate

Coffee or Tea? Diet Coke

Sunrise or Sunset? Sunset

Sweet or Savory? Sweet

Favorite night in? Snuggled in our big king size bed with our granddaughters watching movies and reading stories together.

Favorite night out? A boat ride!

Tell us a random fact people would be surprised to know about you: I love to cook and lived in France where I learned to cook some fabulous things. But I am the pickiest eater on the planet…They tease me at work that I only eat about 5 things…that’s about right~!

What are your 4 favorite items on our site and why?

Single Stone Julia Eternity Band

1. Single Stone Julia Eternity Band: I love the details on this ring. And French cut diamonds…you never see those in a new ring. The way they are cut catches the light so beautifully!

Victorian 2-Stone Diamond Drop Earrings

2. Victorian 2-Stone Diamond Drop Earrings: I love antique jewelry and these double drops are just so elegant, but not too much for everyday!

Estate Napkin Rings

3. Estate & Antique Napkin Rings: I collect antique napkin rings. Each time we take a trip, I engrave where we went on the back of a napkin ring. It is a fun conversation starter because we have everything from Paris and Rome to Disney World!

Temple St. Clair Braided Heart Pendant

4. Temple St. Clair Braided Heart Pendant: I love Temple and I love hearts so this is one of my favorites! It comes in 3 sizes. I would love all 3!
