We are thrilled to introduce you to our newest engagement ring line designed by Erika Winters!
At the risk of sounding jaded, we are very picky when it comes to choosing new engagement ring lines for our store. At Croghan's we have been doing this for many years, and it is hard to find something this group has not seen before.
Charleston has a very unique market which often contradicts itself! We love new and cutting edge designs, but have a serious affection for the old, interesting, and antique. We want traditional and classic, but do not want the same thing every one else is wearing. We are aware of the latest and greatest trends, but don't get caught up in fads that will be gone next season!
We think Erika Winters embodies just that, traditional with an edgy twist.
We met Erika and her husband while searching for new and exciting jewelry at the Las Vegas Jewelry Show, and we are thrilled to show you her gorgeous line.
Erika lives in another beautiful waterfront city, Seattle, Washington. All of her rings are handmade using only the best craftsmen in the area. When we asked Erika what inspires her, she answered, "I have a deep abiding love for all things antique and ancient in the jewelry world, and a love for ancient architecture and old world forms and shapes. What I do is draw from this old world inspiration to create timeless, contemporary design to endure for generations." Now do you see why we love her? She goes on to say, "Though the line nods to vintage with it's elements, I stress that these are contemporary designs that have a unique crossover from alternative to traditional engagement rings. I also love to juxtapose negative metal space with diamond detail and sculptural details as the metal has an inherent beauty that I offset with my signature brushed finish."
When Erika's husband proposed, he wanted her to choose the diamond and design her own ring. This lead her on an intensive study of diamonds, which ultimately earned her a Graduate Gemology Degree from The GIA. After mastering the gemstone requirements she moved into the design world. This experience made her realize that jewelry was in fact her passion and she ultimately made it her career. We are glad that she did and we think you will be too!
Let's take a look at a few pieces of her beautiful collection.
